Every layer can now have its own envelope, so one layer can fade away while another keeps ringing. Three buttons that used to do nothing without telling you now say so.
Trimming a sample no longer moves the waveform under your hands, and the handles now follow REVERSE.
You can now trim a sample inside Texture, and there is an FAQ built into the plugin.
Nothing in the plugin has changed. This build sounds and behaves exactly like beta.11. If you are already running that, there is nothing here you need.
It exists so we could verify two changes to how releases reach you:
A beta tester sent a twelve-point report. This release is that report, answered.
Texture can now tell you what note your sample is.
A small, focused release. One beta tester wrote in about modulation, all three of their points were right, and this is those answers.
200 → 691 Hz: the value you dialled in on the left, and what modulation is making of it right now on the right, in colour. Previously the ring around the knob moved but the number never did, so there was no way to read what range a pedal or an LFO was actually producing — which is what the tester wrote in about. Knobs that are not being modulated look exactly as they always have, and so do knobs whose modulation is too small to change the reading.Groundwork for factory samples, which is the next thing coming: presets can now carry the name of a sound that ships with Texture rather than a copy of it, so a future library can include audio without the download growing by the size of it 128 times over. Nothing changes for you yet — there is no factory audio in this build — and presets you save yourself still carry their own audio exactly as before, so they keep working no matter what happens to the ones we ship.
Right-click a knob and choose *Add modulation source*, then assign your pedal. Turn the knob fully down first if you want the pedal to cover everything from silence to full — you should now be able to watch the second number sweep the whole way as you move it. The MOD page's routing list is where you change how far any modulation reaches, and negative amounts flip its direction.
The biggest beta yet. We went through Texture end to end — every screen, every control, and the whole audio engine — looking for things that were wrong rather than waiting to be told. Some of what turned up had been wrong since the first beta.
Housekeeping from reading a beta tester's diagnostic log closely. Nothing here changes how Texture sounds.
Fixes from beta feedback. Thank you to everyone sending reports in — keep them coming.
The interface has been rebuilt. Texture had seven pages; it now has five — SOURCE, GRAIN, FX, MOD and OUTPUT — with everything grouped where you would look for it rather than where it happened to be added. Render moved into a button in the header. If you have been using the betas, this is the biggest visible change so far, and a lot of small things that were quietly wrong are now right.
A stability release. A full review of the code found 18 real problems that the existing tests had all been passing through, and this fixes them. If you are testing Texture, this is the build to be on.
While your DAW is playing back automation, automated parameter moves are recorded as undo steps — so Undo may step back through an automated value instead of your own last edit.

Reports sent from beta.1 and beta.2 still route through the old relay, which stays online until those testers upgrade — but upgrading is the reliable path.presetisolate mode in the signal-path harness re-renders one preset's tail with each effect block disabled in turn, which is what attributed the Shimmer fault to the reverb in a single run..ico.presets/README.md's installation instructions updated — factory presets no longer need to be manually copied into your Documents folder.A granular soundscape workstation: load a sample (or capture one live), and play a drifting granular cloud keytracked across the keyboard — grown into a full 7-page instrument with professional-grade modulation, effects, and preset tooling. This is a beta release for a small group of testers — feedback from this round shapes the road to a full 1.0.
